Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work. Others tell us how people use the site and which of our adverts bring them here.
The first time you visit, a pop-up asks whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. Reject is as easy as Accept, and the website and booking form work either way. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
Cookies we always use
These are needed for the site to work, so they do not need your consent.
- phx-consent (saved in your browser's storage, not sent to us): remembers whether you clicked Accept or Reject, so we don't ask again on every page. It stays until you clear your browser data or change your choice.
- The booking form. Our online booking form is provided by Autocab, our booking system supplier, and appears inside our booking pages. Autocab may set its own cookies that the form needs to work, and it shows its own cookie notice the first time you use it. See Autocab's privacy policy.
Cookies we use only if you click Accept
Analytics: Google Analytics, run by Google. It tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us, so we can improve the site.
- _ga: tells visits apart. Lasts 2 years.
- _ga_ followed by a code: keeps track of your visit. Lasts 2 years.
Advertising: the Meta pixel and the Google tag, run by Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google. They tell us which of our adverts brought people to the site and whether they went on to book or apply for a job, and let us show our adverts to people who have visited the site.
- _fbp (Meta): recognises your browser across visits. Lasts 3 months.
- _fbc (Meta): records that you arrived by clicking one of our adverts. Lasts 3 months.
- _gcl_au (Google): records that you arrived from one of our Google adverts. Lasts 3 months.
We never load analytics or advertising cookies on our school transport and hospital pages.
Changing your choice
- Click Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to see the pop-up again and change your answer.
- You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking every cookie may stop the booking form working.
- To stop Google Analytics on every website, use Google's opt-out add-on.
