We transport over 30,000 people on a weekly basis

Community

We employ over 300 drivers, office staff and passenger transport assistants who live in the Northumberland, North Tyneside and Newcastle areas. We transport over 30,000 people on a weekly basis and as a result our brand has a tremendous reach across the region.

We’re always trying to give something back to a community that we’re privileged to be a part of in the North of Tyne and Northumberland areas.

If you think we may be able to help your local project in any, please get in touch here.

Football in the Community

We actively support Blyth Spartans Football Club, providing advertising revenue and contributing to charity events. We also recognise the important work of various junior football clubs, including Fordly Juniors, Ashington Ladies, Blyth Rangers, and Blyth Spartans Juniors. We have made significant donations towards fund-raising events, in addition to providing prizes for raffles. We understand the vital contributions these clubs make to the local area and look forward to working with them again in the future.

Providing a service which so many local people rely on every day, we take our role in the community very seriously, and value the continued support of our local customers and affiliates.

We were also behind the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation Five-a-Side Football Tournament in 2015.

Blyth Town Fair

Blyth Town Council run Summer, Halloween and Christmas fares in Blyth Town Centre at the market place. Free for all, superbly organised and incredibly successful, Phoenix Taxis have made small contributions to each of the Town Fares, and we intend to keep doing so in the years to come.

Each Town Fare sees the local 845 Bus Service (operated by Phoenix) available to the public completely free of charge (and at no cost to the Council) so that a trip to the Market Place for local residents is easy and convenient. Each fare has also seen a ‘Phoenix Taxis Stall’ where local people can win prizes.

In the Press

Phoenix Taxis made an investment of £100,000 to create the Blyth Community Hub – read the full story here.

North East Children’s Cancer Run

In the May of each year the staff at Phoenix Taxis run the North East Children’s Cancer Run to raise money for local charities. The team raised £500 in 2014.
